Sekondi MP Blay Nyameke Files GH₵10m Lawsuit Against Jospong Group, Metro TV, NPP Member over $350M Cocaine Claim

Sekondi, Western Region, Ghana - 11 April, 2025 - Member of Parliament for Sekondi, Blay Nyameke Armah, has initiated a GH₵10,000,000 defamation lawsuit against Jospong Group of Companies, Ignite Media Group and Lawuratu Musah-Saka over allegations of involvement in a massive cocaine trafficking operation.
The claims, made on a popular television program, "Good Morning Ghana," and subsequently shared on social media, accused Armah of possessing 3,000 kilograms of cocaine valued at $350 million and fleeing to a neighboring country to evade arrest. His son was also allegedly said to have been detained in connection with the case.
Armah in a writ dated April 9, 2025, denied any involvement and is seeking substantial damages, including GH₵10,000,000, as well as a retraction and public apology from the defendants.
The lawsuit also seeks an order restraining further defamatory statements.
The allegations surfaced after a significant cocaine seizure in Cape Coast, prompting Armah to deny any involvement and announce plans to report the matter to the Speaker of Parliament for investigation.
