My Position on anti-LGBTQI Bill Remains Unchanged - Sam George

Accra, Ghana - 12 April, 2025 - Ghana's Minister for Communications,Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has reaffirmed his support for the Anti-LGBTQI Bill, describing LGBTQI practices as an "abomination".
Despite President John Dramani Mahama's suggestion that the bill would benefit from government backing, George remains resolute.
Ghana's anti-LGBTQ+ bill has ignited a heated debate, pitting supporters who claim it upholds the country's cultural and religious values against critics who argue it infringes on basic human rights, including nondiscrimination, freedom of expression, and assembly.
During a TV3 interview on April 11, MP Samuel Nartey George firmly stated that his stance on the Anti-LGBTQI Bill remains the same, reiterating his strong opposition to LGBTQI activities in Ghana. He emphasized that LGBTQI practices are unacceptable in the country, calling them an "abomination".
“I have not changed my position on the anti-LGBTQI Bill. I have laid the Private Member’s Bill before parliament,” he stated.
