President Mahama Swears in 14 New Ministers

Accra, Ghana - 31 Jan, 2025 - Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama has sworn in 14 new ministers, bringing the total number of sworn-in ministers to 31.

The ceremony took place at the Jubilee House in Accra on Thursday.

Among those sworn in were six sector ministers, including:

- Dr. Edward Omane Boamah as Minister of Defence
- Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah as Minister of Lands and Natural Resources
- Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka as Minister of Interior
- Naa Momo Lartey as Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection
- Gilbert Kenneth Adjei as Minister of Works, Housing, and Water Resources
- Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum as Minister of State in Charge of Special Initiatives

Eight regional ministers were also sworn in, including:

- James Gunu for the Volta Region
- Rita Akosua Awatey for the Eastern Region
- John Kwadwo Gyapong for the Oti Region
- Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo for the Greater Accra Region
- Tia Ibrahim for the North East Region
- Dr. Frank Amoakohene for the Ashanti Region
- Donatus Akamugri Atanga for the Upper East Region
- Ali Adolf John for the Northern Region

The move is part of President Mahama's efforts to complete his ministerial appointments, with 42 nominees put forward in total.
