Ntim Fordjour Wins GHC 700K in Defamation Case

Cape Coast, Central Region, Ghana - 28 April, 2025 - Member of Parliament for Assin South, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, has emerged victorious in a high-profile defamation case against Stephen Cobbah, also known as Adepa, and Yaw Korankye, also known as Ampong who made disparaging remarks about him on a WhatsApp platform, ''Assinman Politics Gh'' in March 2024.

The Cape Coast High Court, presided over on April 28, 2025, declared that the statements were indeed defamatory and awarded Rev. Fordjour GHC 700,000 in damages.

The defendants were also ordered to pay GHC 20,000 each in costs.

The court's decision also included a perpetual injunction, restraining the defendants from publishing further defamatory statements against Rev. Fordjour.

Additionally, they were ordered to retract their statements and issue a written apology on the same WhatsApp platform, "Assinman Politics Gh," where the defamatory comments were initially made.
