NSA Scandal: President Mahama Orders Manhunt for Absconded Suspects

Parliament House/Accra, Ghana - 27 Feb, 2025 - President John Mahama has sounded the alarm on corruption, revealing that suspects implicated in the National Sports Authority (NSA) financial scandal have gone into hiding.
Delivering his first State of the Nation Address in his second term, Mahama directed security agencies to declare the absconded suspects wanted, emphasizing that those involved in the scandal must face justice.
Mahama stressed that his administration is committed to fighting corruption and strengthening institutions to prevent financial mismanagement. He assured Ghanaians that efforts are underway to track down the suspects and retrieve stolen funds. The President also urged authorities to cooperate in preventing similar incidents in the future, promising strict enforcement of laws to protect public resources.
“Such brazen stealing of state resources should not go unpunished,'' he stated.
This development comes as Mahama's administration has pledged to tackle corruption head-on, with plans to review the constitution to discourage corrupt practices and promote accountability.
