NPP's 2024 Electoral Defeat: Committee Hands Over Report to Party Leadership

Acrra, Ghana - 17 April, 2025 - The opposition National Patriotic Party's (NPP) introspection exercise took a significant step forward yesterday when Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye, chairman of the 12-member committee formed to dissect the party's loss in the 2024 general elections, presented the probe's findings to the national leadership.

At an event held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, attended by party heavyweights including former President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the committee handed over the official document detailing its discoveries.
However, in a move that has sparked curiosity, Professor Oquaye declined to comment on the contents of the report.

The committee's probe aimed to identify the root causes of the NPP's electoral setback and provide actionable recommendations to prevent similar outcomes in future elections. Despite the significance of the report, the party has yet to make its findings public, fueling speculation about the potential implications for the party's future direction.

The event drew prominent figures from the party, including former President Nana Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Running Mate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, General Secretary Justin Kodua, and other high-ranking party officials.
