Bawumia Leads NPP 2028 Presidential Race with 48.1% – Global InfoAnalytics

Accra, Ghana - 03 April, 2025 - A recent poll by Global InfoAnalytics reveals that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is leading the race for the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) flagbearer position in the 2028 presidential elections, with 48.1% of the overall vote.
Kennedy Agyapong follows closely with 25.1%, while Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum secured 12.5% ¹. Other contenders, including Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, Bryan Acheampong, and Francis Addai Nimo, also received significant votes.
According to Mussa Dankwa, Executive Director and Head of Research at Global InfoAnalytics, Dr. Bawumia's support is lower than anticipated, indicating he faces significant challenges in securing the party's leadership.
Dankwa warned that Bawumia should not be complacent, as the competition within the NPP will be more intense than before.
“Bawumia should not be happy with this; it’s too low. This means that the battle will be fiercer than the last time,” Dankwa said in an interview on Channel One TV’s The Point of View on Wednesday April 2.
He added that, Kennedy Agyapong's support has decreased, potentially due to Dr. Adutwum's growing influence.
“I think he [Kennedy Agyapong] should be doing better. You could see that maybe Adutwum has eaten into his backyard,” he noted.
