NPP Postpones Disciplinary Hearing for Adwoa Safo Indefinitely
Sarah Adwoa Safo is a former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya

Accra, Ghana - 07 April, 2025 - The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has postponed the disciplinary hearing for former Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, initially scheduled for April 7, 2025.

The decision comes after Adwoa Safo was referred to the party's National Disciplinary Committee for alleged misconduct, specifically violating party directives by discussing party issues on media platforms.

Background
Adwoa Safo's disciplinary hearing was prompted by her comments on Joy News' Pulse Show, which the NPP deemed to be in breach of party unity and loyalty. Safo lost her parliamentary seat in the 2024 general elections after being defeated by Mike Oquaye Jnr in the NPP primaries. Her media comments are alleged to have fostered discontent and division within the party, prompting the NPP to refer her to the disciplinary committee. As a former Deputy Majority Leader, Adwoa Safo's actions were seen as contrary to the party's values.

Reasons for Postponement
The NPP in a statement cited emerging scheduling adjustments and internal considerations as the reasons for postponing the hearing. The party has assured Adwoa Safo that she will be notified promptly of the new date and time for the hearing.

''Further to our earlier correspondence dated March 24, 2025, with reference NPP/HQ/GS/2025/24/03/DC, inviting you to appear before the Disciplinary Committee on Monday April 7, 2025, we wish to notify you that the said hearing has formally been postponed.

''Emerging scheduling adjustments and internal considerations necessitated this decision. Once scheduled, we will notify you promptly of the new date and time for the hearing'' portions of the statement read.
