Applicants in Greater Accra Can Collect Their Ghana Cards Starting April 7 - NIA

Accra, Ghana - 07 April, 2025 - The National Identification Authority has announced that applicants in Greater Accra who registered but haven't received their Ghana cards since 2023 can now collect them at their registration centers starting April 7, 2025.
This move aims to address the backlog of unissued cards in the region.
The NIA has been working to clear the backlog of Ghana cards, and it appears that significant progress has been made.
The NIA in a statement noted that all districts in Greater Accra have been provided with enough blank cards to print new ones for free, except for replacement and update cases, which will incur fees of 125 and 60 cedis, respectively.
According to them, applicants can collect their cards at their registration centers in Greater Accra. New applicants can get their Ghana cards printed for free, except for replacement and update cases.
Additionally, the NIA has made progress in other regions, with all regions excluding Volta and Oti receiving sufficient cards to clear their backlogs.
The National Identification Authority has been working to improve the Ghana Card registration and distribution process. They have established regional and district offices across the country, with over 275 district offices operational.
