NPA Chief Vows To Transform Downstream Oil and Gas Sector

Accra, Ghana - 18 Feb 2025 - Ghana's National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has outlined its plans to transform the country's downstream oil and gas sector.
The authority's Acting Chief Executive, Godwin Kudzo Tameklo, made the announcement at the maiden Downstream Dialogue 2025 conference held at the Fiesta Royale Hotel in Accra on Tuesday, Feb 18, 2025.
Mr Tameklo stated that the NPA is committed to implementing the government's 24-hour economy policy, which aims to boost economic activity by extending business hours. He also pledged to promote fair pricing and ensure strict compliance with industry regulations.
The NPA chief executive emphasized the need for affordable, high-quality, and reliable petroleum products. He said the authority is working to create a resilient petroleum sector that benefits all stakeholders.
The conference, organized by the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies, and on the theme, "Ghana's Downstream Oil and Gas Sector: Challenges and Opportunities" brought together industry experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing Ghana's downstream oil and gas sector.
Ghana's Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Jinapor, the Deputy Minister Designate; Hon. Richard Gyan-Mensah and the Deputy Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority; Dr. Sheila Addo attended the event.
The conference is seen as a crucial step towards shaping the future of Ghana's petroleum industry.
