Mahama Pledges to Complete KATH Maternity Block, Sewua and Afari Hospitals

Accra, Ghana - 03 June, 2025 - John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his commitment to finishing key healthcare projects in Ghana's Ashanti Region.
During a meeting with the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Jubilee House, Mahama promised to complete the stalled maternity block at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.
The project, which started in 2021, aims to provide comprehensive maternal and child healthcare services. Mahama also assured the completion of the Sewua and Afari Military Hospitals, which have faced delays.
He emphasized that these projects would be part of his administration's infrastructure development agenda, known as the 'Big Push' initiative, which would prioritize the Ashanti Region.
“In the Health Sector, we will continue and complete the Sewua and Afari Military Hospitals. We will also continue and complete the KATH maternity and children blocks,” he stated.
