Mahama Pays Tribute to Late Pope Francis, Praises His 'Humanity'

Accra, Ghana - 25 April, 2025 - President John Dramani Mahama has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Pope Francis, praising his kindness, compassion, and commitment to humanity.
In a condolence book opened at the Apostolic Nunciature in Accra, Mahama described the Pope as a "good man" with a “personable and humane, with a ''good soul,'' highlighting his personable and humane nature.
The tribute comes as Ghanaians and people around the world mourn the passing of the influential spiritual leader, who died on April 21 at the age of 88.
Pope Francis was widely respected for his advocacy on social justice, peace, and interfaith unity, and his legacy has left a lasting impact on the global community.
In Accra, a government delegation led by Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, joined by religious leaders from various Christian denominations and a representative of the National Chief Imam, attended a solemn mass at the Holy Spirit Cathedral to pay their respects to the late Pope.
The mass was a testament to the Pope's ability to bring people together across faiths and cultures.
