Latest Global InfoAnalytics polls show Mahama in the lead with 51.9% support

Accra, Ghana - Nov 18, 2024 - Ghana's presidential election is heating up, and the latest poll from Global InfoAnalytics suggests John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is in the lead.

With 51.9% support, Mahama is ahead of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who trails with 40.5%.

Regional Breakdown
In the swing regions of Greater Accra, Central, and Western, Mahama leads with 51.1%, while Bawumia follows with 39.5%. However, in the Akan regions, Bawumia takes the lead with 46.6%, closely followed by Mahama at 44.5%. The Northern regions overwhelmingly favor Mahama, with 64.7% support, while the Volta and Oti regions give him a significant 72.7% lead.

Candidate Performance
Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen and Nana Kwame Bediako trail behind, with 2.1% and 4.7% support, respectively. Notably, Mahama leads in 13 regions, including traditional NPP strongholds Ahafo and Bono. Among floating voters, Mahama commands 63% support, and among first-time voters, he leads with 48%.

Election Outlook
With less than three weeks to go, the election is shaping up to be a tense contest. The NDC will likely capitalize on Mahama's strong showing, while the NPP will need to strategize to close the gap. As the campaign intensifies, Ghanaians will be watching closely to see how the candidates respond to the poll's findings.
