La Dadekotopon MCE Race: Namoale Urges Calm Amidst Controversy

La, Accra, Ghana - 09 May, 2025 - In a bid to diffuse rising hostilities, key players in the La Dadekotopon Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) race are being implored to exercise restraint following rejection of President Mahama’s nominee.
The La Dadekotopon Municipal Assembly (LADMA) in Accra few days ago rejected the President's nominee, Alfredos Nii Anyetei, as MCE, sparking tension among residents and assembly members.
The nominee garnered only 5 out of 14 votes, failing to meet the constitutionally required two-thirds majority.
Some residents expressed outrage, accusing certain National Democratic Congress (NDC) executives in the municipality of betraying Alfredos.
In response, former Member of Parliament and Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Nii Amasah Namoale, has urged calm and cooperation among parties.
In an interview with Lead News, Namoale emphasized unity, stating that effective leadership requires collaboration and collective effort.
"I urge all parties to prioritize the constituency's common good and work together harmoniously,'' he stated.
"We're all one team, working towards the same goal. Let's put aside differences and focus on progress.
"The President's nomination is just the starting point. Effective leadership requires collaboration and collective effort."
According to Namoale ,he has engaged with assembly members, hearing their issues and offering guidance while reaffirming his commitment to the constituency's progress.
"We've had productive conversations with assembly members, listening to their concerns and offering guidance. Unity is key."
"Someone must lead for our collective success and I'm committed to that,'' he added.
The rejection highlights the challenges of leadership appointments in local government, where consensus-building is crucial.Namoale’s call for unity underscores the need for collaborative governance in achieving collective success.
