New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer position, Kennedy Agyapong

Accra,Ghana – September 23,2025 - An aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer position, Kennedy Agyapong exudes confidence in his ability to lead Ghana as president, attributing it to his successful appearance before the party's vetting committee. Following his vetting on September 23, 2025, Agyapong told the press,"I was prepared. I believe I answered all the questions, and they know I'm ready to be president of this country."

The vetting committee, led by Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye, grilled Agyapong on various aspects, including his vision for Ghana and the NPP, as well as his motivation for seeking the presidency. Agyapong revealed that he enumerated several points on how he intends to address some of the country's problems.

Agyapong emphasized his commitment to adopting the Asian model of economic growth, where the government partners with the private sector to drive development. He cited examples of countries like South Korea, India, and Dubai, which have successfully combined government support with private sector partnerships to build global giants.

"Government partners with individuals in the private sector. Once you finish paying back your loan, it becomes your business. In business, capital is often difficult to obtain. With government support, you can run your business well and become successful," Agyapong explained.

Agyapong remains one of the leading contenders in the NPP flagbearer race, with the party set to hold a special delegates conference on November 4, 2025. He expressed confidence in winning the party's presidential primary and leading the NPP into the 2028 general elections.
