Justice means rewarding good and punishing wrong- Duncan Williams to Mahama

Accra, Ghana 12 Jan, 2025 - Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams has urged President John Dramani Mahama to prioritize justice in his administration, emphasizing the need to reward good deeds and punish wrongdoing.

Speaking at the National Prayer and Thanksgiving Service in Accra, Duncan Williams stressed that justice is essential for accountability in governance. He expressed optimism about Ghana's potential under President Mahama's leadership, envisioning a prosperous nation where citizens can thrive without needing visas to leave the country.

The Archbishop also cautioned government officials against adopting transactional relationships, reminding them to stay focused on serving the people who elected them. He praised President Mahama and his wife for demonstrating love and commitment to the nation.

Justice means rewarding people for the good done and punishing people for the wrong done,” he stated, urging the president to uphold these principles for the benefit of the nation,'' he stated.

I look forward to a Ghana under President Mahama where the atmosphere is conducive for prosperity, where Ghanaians will not queue for visas to leave the country,” he added.

In a related development, the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Lt. Col. Divine Agbeko, called for the removal of taxes introduced by the previous government, which he described as "naughty" and burdensome to Ghanaians.

''Take the naughty stealing taxes… they will tax money in your pocket after it has been taxed. You want to send money, they will take it again. Take those naughty taxes away and do something better'', he stated.
