{In-Pictures}: Ghana's New MPs Embark on 4-Day Training Programme

Accra, Ghana - 12 Jan, 2025 - Ghana's new Members of Parliament have begun a 4-day training program aimed at equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively discharge their duties.

The training session is expected to cover various topics, including the role and responsibilities of a Member of Parliament, the legislative process, and the importance of oversight. The new MPs will also have the opportunity to interact with experienced lawmakers and experts in various fields.

This training program is crucial, especially considering the significant number of new faces in the 8th Parliament of Ghana's Fourth Republic. Out of the 275 MPs, many are first-timers, and this training will help them navigate the complexities of parliamentary work.

The 8th Parliament is composed of 183 NDC MPs, 88 NPP MPs, and 4 Independent candidates. The MPs represent various constituencies across Ghana's 16 regions.

As the new MPs undergo this training, they will be expected to hit the ground running, tackling critical issues affecting Ghana, including economic development, education, and healthcare.
