I will train One million people in digital skills - Bawumia
Kwadaso, Ashanti Region, Ghana - Nov 15, 2024 - Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party's flagbearer, has unveiled an ambitious plan to empower one million Ghanaian youth with digital skills, starting with 5,000 young individuals from the Kwadaso Constituency.
He made these pronouncements during a a constituency connect event in Kwadaso on Nov 15.
Bawumia stated that During this visionary initiative aims to bridge the skills gap and unlock remote job opportunities in tech-savvy countries like the US, Canada, and Singapore.
“The youth need skills. We’ve introduced technical and vocational training, but they also need digital skills, as the world has shifted to digital,'' he stated.
“From right here in Kwadaso, one can work for companies in the US, Canada, and Singapore. Even school dropouts can be trained.
“My goal is to have at least one million people trained in digital skills, starting with five thousand youth from Kwadaso Constituency. This way, they can stay here and still work internationally,'' he added.
