I am not running for flagbearer in 2028 - NAPO Denies Presidential Bid
Accra, Ghana - 16 April, 2025 - The Running Mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 presidential election, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as Napo, has quashed speculation about a potential presidential bid in 2028.
Speaking on the sidelines of the NPP's strategic meeting in Accra on Wednesday April 16, Dr. Prempeh stressed that his immediate priority is to ensure the party presents a strong, united front to the Ghanaian electorate, emphasizing that a united party is essential for securing victory in 2028.
“No, I am not running in 2028,'' he stated.
“My immediate interest now is to get a united party for a flagbearer to be eventually crowned'' he added.
