Honoring a Legacy: NkrumahFest 2025 Kicks Off with Pomp

Nkrofol - Western Region,Ghana – 3, August, 2025 – The 2025 NkrumahFest, themed "Journey to Nkroful," was successfully launched on August 2, 2025, marking the beginning of a month-long countdown to the 116th birthday celebration of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana's first president. The festivities will culminate in a week-long celebration from September 17th to 22nd in Nkroful, the ancestral hometown of the legendary leader.

The launch event drew a galaxy of stars, including prominent dignitaries such as Nana Kobina Nketsia V, President of the Western Regional House of Chiefs, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Creative Arts ,Joseph Nelson, Western Regional Minister ,Kwesi Pratt Jnr, renowned journalist and Nkrumahist ,esteemed members of Parliament and Chiefs from the Western Region and Nkrumahists from diverse backgrounds.

NkrumahFest aims to honor the enduring legacy of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, a champion of Pan-Africanism. The celebration will showcase the profound impact of Nkrumah's vision on Ghana and Africa, inviting compatriots, admirers, and believers in Pan-Africanism to join in the festivities. This year's celebration promises to be an exciting tribute to Nkrumah's life and achievements, building on the success of previous years.

Last year's celebration, NkrumahFest 2024, was a resounding success, featuring prominent artistes like Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, and King Paluta. The event was a testament to Nkrumah's lasting impact on Ghanaian culture and politics.
