Ada's Ancient Traditions Meet Modern Values: Asafotufiami Festival 2025
The 88th Asafotufiami Festival was celebrated in Ada with a call for peace, unity, and justice as essential pillars for progress and national development. Hon. Samuel Nartey George, Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, emphasized the importance of these values during the festival, which honors the heroic exploits of Ada's warriors.
Hon. Nartey George defined peace as the presence of understanding, allowing children to dream without fear and markets to thrive without disruption.The Minister also emphasized that Ada's strength lies in its collective identity, not in divisions of clan or geography and highlighted the importance of justice in fostering social cohesion and national progress, stating that "justice is the heartbeat of fairness".
Sam George urged traditional leaders, elders, and public officials to uphold justice in every decision and policy. He also encouraged the people of Ada to take the values of peace, unity, and justice beyond the festival grounds into their daily lives.
