Gov't Flagship Programmes Under Fire: Majority Leader Pushes Back  

Accra ,October 22,2025 - The Majority Leader in Parliament Mahama Ayariga has dismissed concerns raised by the Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, over the lack of transparency in the government's flagship programmes, describing the allegations as unfounded and politically motivated.

The Minority Leader had accused the government of withholding key documents on its flagship programmes, including the 24-Hour Economy, Big Push, Feed Ghana, Committee on Youth Exports, National Apprenticeship Programme, and the One Million Coders programme, undermining parliamentary oversight and transparency.

However, speaking in response, the Majority Leader emphasized that the government is committed to transparency and accountability, and that the necessary documents would be made available to Parliament in due course.

"The Minority Leader's concerns are unfounded and lack merit. The government is committed to transparency and accountability, and we will ensure that Parliament is adequately informed about our flagship programmes," the Majority Leader said.

The Majority Leader further argued that the government's flagship programmes are designed to benefit Ghanaians and stimulate economic growth, and that the Minority's concerns are aimed at undermining the government's efforts.

"The Minority is just trying to score cheap political points, but we will not be distracted. We will continue to work towards delivering on our promises to the Ghanaian people," the Majority Leader added.
