Government Orders Institutions to Reveal New Payroll Additions
Accra, Ghana - 24 Jan, 2025 - Ghana's Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has directed all heads of government institutions to submit detailed staff information by January 31, 2025, in a bid to enhance transparency and accountability in government payroll management across Ghana.
The move, which aims to eliminate ghost names from the payroll, will be implemented through a thorough verification process.
The directive, issued in a letter dated January 15, requests institutions to provide specific details for each staff member added to the payroll since December 7, 2024. This includes full name, designation, employee identification number, date of appointment, and date added to the payroll.
Institutions have therefore, been urged to comply with the directive promptly to ensure the accuracy and integrity of payroll records.
