Accra, Ghana - 06 March, 2025 - Ghana has celebrated the academic achievements of 52 outstanding students from across the country, as part of the 32nd President's Independence Day Awards Ceremony.

The ceremony, held in Accra, recognised the students' exceptional performance in the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). The awardees, who hail from public and private schools in all 16 regions of Ghana, received laptops, educational supplies, and plaques to commemorate their achievement.

Ghana's Vice President, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, congratulated the students on their success, urging them to continue striving for excellence. She also emphasised the need for a collective effort to improve Ghana's education system.

“Let me congratulate you on how far you have come. Yes, you have come far, but you have much further to go. This is a good step, keep going, realize your potential, and pursue your dreams. Do not stop yourself, and do not allow others to stop you,” she stated.

The awards ceremony, sponsored by Nestlé Ghana, has been a longstanding tradition in Ghana, recognising academic excellence and encouraging young students to reach their full potential.

The Managing Director of Nestlé Ghana, Georgios Badaro, reiterated the company's dedication to improving its environmental footprint, focusing on strengthening its value chain and slashing greenhouse gas emissions.

“We are working closely with our suppliers to improve the value chain, as well as enhance quality and sustainability. We are also exploring regenerative agriculture options to promote sustainable farming practices in Ghana,” he remarked.
