Ghana's Electoral Commission Debunks Viral Video of 'Stolen' Voters' Register
Samuel Tettey is the Deputy Chairperson of Operations at the Electoral Commission of Ghana

A viral video circulating on social media, purportedly showing a white pickup truck transporting Ghana's voters' register, has been dismissed as fake by the Electoral Commission (EC).

The video, which appears to show coloured copies of the register, has raised concerns among some Ghanaians.

However, the EC has clarified in a statement that its official registers are black and white, not coloured.

According to the EC, the final register provided to political parties is printed by the parties themselves for use by their agents. The commission has also stated that the truck shown in the video does not belong to them.

The EC's Deputy Chairman, Samuel Tettey, has urged the police to investigate the matter, citing the visible registration number of the pickup truck as a potential lead. The commission is calling on the public to disregard the video, which it believes is intended to create suspicion and mistrust
