Ghana Police Uncover Sophisticated Arms Trafficking Network

Accra, Ghana – 13 August, 2025 – The Ghana Police Service has announced the arrest of Daniel Adomako, also known as "Sir Obama Pokuase," and three other individuals, Prince Ofori, Yaira Abiwu, and Emmanuel Kwakye, in connection with separate investigations.

According to a press release issued by the Public Affairs Directorate of the Ghana Police Service on August 13, 2025, Daniel Adomako was arrested as part of ongoing intelligence-led operations aimed at dismantling networks involved in the illegal possession and display of sophisticated weapons. Adomako is alleged to have circulated images and videos on social media depicting individuals openly brandishing illegally acquired sophisticated weapons, and is currently assisting investigations into these matters.

The Ghana Police Service has been conducting operations for several weeks, resulting in the significant retrieval of a substantial number of illegal arms and ammunition. The police have reiterated their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens by rooting out criminal elements and preventing the proliferation of illegal arms.

In a related development, Prince Ofori, Yaira Abiwu, and Emmanuel Kwakye were arrested and are currently in police custody, assisting ongoing investigations into cases of threat of death and publication of false news following a recent helicopter crash.
