Bawumia's Presidential Bid Gains Momentum as NPP Youths Pick Nomination Forms in Style
Accra, Ghana – 13 August, 2025 – A vibrant procession of youth organisers from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) descended upon the party's Accra headquarters on Wednesday, August 13, to pick up nomination forms for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's presidential bid.
Clad in matching NPP attire, the energetic group of constituency and regional youth leaders from across Ghana chanted party slogans and sang patriotic tunes, exuding an air of excitement and solidarity as they rallied behind their preferred candidate.
While briefing the news media ,a youth organiser Isaac Obeng described the move as a celebration of young people and a milestone in the party's political journey, timed perfectly after International Youth Day on August 12. "We cannot remain idle in our constituencies without marking this remarkable day," Obeng stated.
The action, he explained, was more than symbolic, as they aimed to gift Dr. Bawumia the nomination forms as a show of support.
Obeng highlighted the unity and enthusiasm driving the initiative, noting that representatives from numerous constituencies had joined forces for the gesture. "You can see here representatives of youth organisers from various constituencies who have come to pick this form, and from here we will move to his residence, his campaign office, where we will officially present the forms to him," he said.
He expressed strong confidence in Dr. Bawumia's leadership, suggesting that the moment could herald a new era for Ghana. "We know that, Insha Allah, this day is the day Ghana's destiny will be rewritten. What the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has done and continues to do shows that the things Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia accomplished as Vice President are exactly what our country needs."
The endorsement from over 490 youth organisers adds to Dr. Bawumia's growing momentum ahead of the January 2026 presidential primary. Other groups, including over 200 former Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) and more than 60 NPP Members of Parliament, have also thrown their weight behind the former Vice President's bid.
