Ghana Police announce road diversions, security measures ahead of final NPP and NDC rallies
The Ghana Police Service has announced a comprehensive traffic plan to ensure public safety and prevent clashes between supporters during the final rallies of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Thursday, December 5.
The NPP's rally will take place at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon, while the NDC's event will be held at Zurak Park in Madina.
To facilitate smooth traffic flow, the police have outlined specific diversion routes for supporters of both parties. In a astatement, the police stated that for NPP supporters traveling from Adenta, they will be redirected at Ritz Junction to take a left turn through Aviation and UPSA, before proceeding to Okponglo to access Legon.
Meanwhile, NDC supporters traveling from the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange will turn right at Shiashie, proceed toward UPSA, and then turn left to join the Madina main road.
To ensure public safety, the police will set up a roadblock in front of the NDC rally venue in Madina and station officers along key routes to assist road users and prevent any disturbances.
The police have appealed to both parties to ensure that their supporters maintain discipline and cooperate with law enforcement to guarantee a peaceful and orderly conclusion to campaign activities.
