Election 2024: We have no hand in military deployment to polling stations - Jean Mensa
Ghana's Electoral Commission Chairperson Jean Mensa has made it clear that her organization isn't responsible for deploying military personnel or making security arrangements for the elections.
This comes after the Ghana Armed Forces announced they would be sending troops to specific locations to keep the peace.
Updating Journalists on Dec 7, Mensa emphasized that the EC's role is focused on the electoral process, not security.
“In terms of security, we have no hand in it and we do not make security arrangements,'' she stated.
She reassured the public that no military officers would be stationed at polling stations.
