Ghana's Electoral Commission (EC) has assured the public that the results for the Dome Kwabenya and Ablekuma North constituencies will be finalized shortly, paving the way for the declaration of their Members of Parliament-elect..

The Commission's Deputy Chairperson, Dr. Bossman Asare, speaking at a press conference in Accra on Tuesday Dec 24, attributed the delays in these constituencies to disputes raised by stakeholders, which necessitated additional scrutiny to uphold the integrity of the electoral process.

Dr. Asare expressed confidence in the EC's ability to resolve the outstanding issues promptly, urging all political parties and stakeholders to remain calm.

“We are hopeful that the two outstanding constituencies will have their MPs elect very, very soon, way before the swearing-in parliament,” Dr Asare stated.

The EC's re-collation and declaration efforts have been met with mixed reactions, with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) securing all seven seats declared so far. In contrast, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has rejected the outcomes, describing the EC's actions as illegal and vowing to challenge the decisions.
