Approach task with transparency, and mutual respect - Akufo-Addo charges Transition team

Ghana's outgoing President, Nana Akufo-Addo, has underscored the importance of collaboration, transparency, and mutual respect as the country navigates its transition process. This call to action comes on the heels of the 2024 general elections, which marked a significant milestone in Ghana's democratic journey.

In his address at the inauguration of the transition team on Dec 11,  President Akufo-Addo emphasized the need for all stakeholders to adhere to the Transition Act. This, he believes, is crucial in upholding Ghana's reputation as a beacon of democracy in Africa.

“It is imperative that we continue to consolidate this hard-earned reputation by adhering strictly to the provisions of the Transition Act. We send a powerful message to the world that democracy thrives in Ghana, even in challenging times,” the outgoing President stated.

“As we embark on this transitional process, I urge all members of the team, both from the outgoing administration and the incoming, to approach this task with a spirit of collaboration, transparency, and mutual respect,” he added.
