Akufo-Addo Inaugurates Obetsebi Lamptey Interchange, says it reflects NPP’s transformative agenda

In a significant milestone for Ghana's infrastructure development, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has inaugurated the Obetsebi Lamptey Interchange in Accra.

This state-of-the-art facility is expected to greatly alleviate the city's notorious traffic congestion, while also boosting economic growth and improving the quality of life for residents.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony on Friday, November 29, 2024, President Akufo-Addo stated that the interchange is a testament to the government's commitment to transformative development.

He also emphasized its role in enhancing urban mobility and facilitating efficient transport.

According to him. the project's completion is a critical step towards addressing Accra's traffic woes, which have long hindered movement and economic activity in the area.

“I am very happy to be here this afternoon to commission Phase II of the Obetsebi Lamptey Interchange. This remarkable project is further evidence of my government’s strong commitment to transformative development. Development that enhances mobility and economic growth and improves the quality of life for all Ghanaians,'' he stated.

“With the inception of this project, my vision is clear to confront the persistent traffic congestion which has long impeded movement and economic activity in this crucial area of Accra,'' he added.

The Obetsebi Lamptey Interchange is not only a significant infrastructure achievement but also a symbol of the government's broader vision to modernize infrastructure nationwide. With several ongoing and planned projects across the country aimed at improving transportation networks and urban development, Ghana is poised to take a major leap forward in its development trajectory.
