AfriMass Network and Bluecrest University College Join Forces to Host World Press Freedom Day 2025

Accra, Ghana - 16 April, 2025 - The AfriMass Network, in partnership with Bluecrest University College, is set to host the second edition of the Newsroom Business Initiative, a celebration of World Press Freedom Day 2025.
This year's theme, "Freedom of Expression in the Face of the AI Revolution," highlights the growing importance of artificial intelligence in shaping the future of journalism.
As part of the event, industry experts, media professionals, and policymakers will gather to discuss the opportunities and challenges presented by AI in newsrooms. From automating content to improving fact-checking, AI is transforming the way journalists work.
However, it also raises important questions about authenticity, accountability, and the role of journalists in the digital age.
The inaugural World Press Freedom Day, hosted by AfriMass Network and partners, was a notable success, uniting media industry leaders, including Kobby Spiky Nkrumah, Paa Kwesi Asare, and Emefa Apawu, to highlight the importance of press freedom and honor Ghanaian journalists' achievements.
This years' event will feature panel discussions, workshops, and training sessions, providing a platform for media professionals to enhance their skills and explore the potential of AI in journalism.
With the awards ceremony set to honor outstanding journalists, the event promises to be a celebration of press freedom and a testament to the importance of a free and independent press in Ghana.
