Ghana's Top Journalists to be Honored on Upcoming World Press Freedom Day

Accra, Ghana - 16 April, 2025 - Ghana's bravest and most dedicated journalists will be celebrated at the upcoming World Press Freedom Day event in Accra, hosted by the AfriMass Network in partnership with Bluecrest University College.

The event, themed "Freedom of Expression in the Face of the AI Revolution," will bring together media professionals, students, and advocates of press freedom to discuss the importance of a free and independent press in shaping democratic societies. 

This year's event marks the second edition of the Newsroom Business Initiative, honoring Ghanaian journalists who have shown remarkable courage and commitment to upholding press freedom."

As part of the celebration, participants will engage with industry experts and policymakers to explore the role of press freedom in promoting a better and more informed society.

The awards ceremony will be a highlight of the event, recognizing journalists who have made significant contributions to the field of journalism in Ghana.

With the theme of AI's impact on journalism also being explored, the event promises to be a thought-provoking discussion on the future of journalism and the importance of press freedom in the digital age.
