President Mahama Embarks on Diplomatic Visit to The Gambia and Senegal

Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama is currently on a two-country visit to The Gambia and Senegal, aimed at strengthening regional ties and expressing gratitude to the Heads of State of both countries for attending his presidential inauguration ceremony on January 7.

The visit is part of President Mahama's commitment to fostering good relations with Ghana's West African neighbours. During his trip, President Mahama is expected to hold bilateral talks with his counterparts in The Gambia and Senegal, focusing on issues such as regional security, trade, and economic cooperation.

In The Gambia, President Mahama met with President Adama Barrow, who recently delivered a New Year's message highlighting the country's progress in economic development, infrastructure growth, and tourism.

President Mahama's visit to Senegal is also seen as an opportunity to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries. Senegal has been a key player in regional affairs, and President Mahama's meeting with President Macky Sall is expected to focus on issues such as regional security and economic integration.

The president is expected to return to Ghana today from Dakar, Senegal, marking the end of his diplomatic visit. The trip is seen as a significant step in strengthening Ghana's relations with its West African neighbours and promoting regional cooperation.
