Adom-Otchere Denounces OSP Probe, Calls it a "Witch-hunt”
Paul Adom-Otchere, former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL)

Accra, Ghana – 31 July, 2025 – The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has summoned Paul Adom-Otchere, former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), to appear for questioning in connection with a corruption investigation into a revenue assurance audit contract. The OSP's letter, dated July 25, 2025, identifies Adom-Otchere as a suspect in the probe, which centers on alleged breaches of procurement laws and potential abuse of office.

The investigation focuses on a contract between GACL and a private firm, signed during Adom-Otchere's tenure as Board Chairman. Adom-Otchere, however, claims he had no direct involvement in the contract's signing, which was executed by the Managing Director of GACL. He questions why he's being targeted when other officials, including the Managing Director, were directly involved in the decision-making process.

Adom-Otchere described the invitation as a "witch-hunt" and confirmed receiving the summons to meet investigators. His legal team has requested a deferment to August 4, 2025, due to prior court commitments in Kumasi. The OSP has not publicly confirmed the deferment.

This development comes after a previous investigation by the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) found Adom-Otchere overstepped his administrative bounds in a Christmas decoration procurement case in 2023. The current investigation highlights the OSP's ongoing efforts to ensure accountability in state-owned enterprises.
