Ablakwa Visits Suzy Pinamang in London, Confirms Surgery Scheduled for Next Month

London, UK - 26 May, 2025 - Ghana's Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has paid a visit to Suzy Adwoa Pinamang, a student of Adventist Senior High School in Bantama, Ghana, who was shot in the eye by a classmate on April 4, 2025.
The incident occurred when Bernard Amoabeng, a Form Two student, brought a firearm to school, which accidentally discharged, leaving Suzy with severe eye injuries. Following the incident, Suzy appealed for help on social media, seeking assistance for her treatment.
Ghanaian philanthropist Ibrahim Mahama has generously sponsored the medical treatment and travel expenses of Suzy Adwoa Pinamang in London, while Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa facilitated her visa documentation and coordinated consular support through the Ghana High Commission. The British High Commissioner to Ghana, Harriet Thompson, also lent her support to Suzy's medical evacuation efforts.
Suzy arrived in the United Kingdom on May 10, 2025, accompanied by her brother and Rafik Mahama, an aide to Ibrahim Mahama.
On his X account account (formerly Twitter), Ablakwa disclosed that Suzy's doctors have conducted numerous tests and scheduled her surgery for next month. Despite her ordeal, Suzy is reportedly in high spirits and doing well.
Ablakwa commended the staff of the Ghana High Commission in London for their extraordinary care and expressed gratitude to Ibrahim Mahama for his kindness.
The minister concluded by urging people to continue praying for Suzy's recovery, expressing faith that God would see her through this challenging time.
