We delivered on Free SHS promise- Bawumia
Accra, Ghana - Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has highlighted the transformative impact of the free senior high school policy during his 'It Is Possible' campaign tour in the Bono East Region.
On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, Dr. Bawumia engaged with chiefs, stakeholders, and residents of the region seeking support for the 2024 general elections.
He emphasized the policy's benefits, noting that numerous Ghanaians have gained from the initiative.
The NPP government's successful implementation of the free senior high school policy was a major talking point during Dr. Bawumia's campaign.
He stressed that the party deserves recognition for this achievement and urged citizens to reward the NPP with their votes in the upcoming elections.
“We promised to implement free SHS, and we delivered despite objection from John Mahama. The beauty is that many have benefitted.”
Dr. Bawumia's campaign trail took him to the Eastern Region, where he visited the Abetifi and Mpraeso constituencies.
The paramount chiefs of Mpraeso expressed their admiration for Dr. Bawumia's leadership, dismissing the "liar" label perpetuated by the opposition.
They recognized his significant contributions to Ghana's advancement, highlighting the country's impressive global rankings in various fields, which place it among the top three nations worldwide.
“Many are quick to label Dr Bawumia as a liar. However, all his pronouncements are good, he’s a good leader. Due to his efforts, Ghana is now ranked among the top three in the world in a number of areas," they said.
