Reconsider your position on peace pacts- NPP tells NDC
The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has criticized the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for refusing to sign a peace pact ahead of the December 7 elections.
This follows comments from the chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah who expressed scepticism about the effectiveness of such agreements, citing past experiences.
In a statement signed by the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong on August 16, 2024, the NPP has condemned the utterances of Asiedu Nketiah and has urged the NDC to reconsider their stance.
"The NPP wishes to make a passionate appeal to the NDC to reconsider their posture by reason of the national interest and desist from making statements likely to fuel tensions in the political atmosphere with far-reaching implications for the peace and security of our dear country."
