"He is like a legal representative of the NPP, over-enthusiastic in pursuing political opponents" - Mahama jabs Dame

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 elections, John Dramani Mahama has criticized and accused the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame of acting more like a legal spokesperson for the New Patriotic Party than carrying out his duties objectively.

His comments follows the Court of Appeal's decision to acquit and release, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson in the ambulance procurement case.

Speaking in an interview with TV3 on Tuesday, July 30, , the former President stated that the AG's credibility has been seriously compromised.

Mahama responded to a leaked phone call between the AG and one of the then-accused, Richard Jakpa, in which the AG reportedly attempted to tamper with witnesses in order to imprison the Minority Leader at any costs.

He promised that if elected, he would ensure that the Office of the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice prioritizes accountability over political witch-hunting.

The firmer president underlined his reservations about the current AG's actions, as well as his resolve to reestablish an impartial Justice system.
