Four killed in fiery car crash at East Legon

Accra, Ghana - October 13, 2024 - A devastating car crash in Accra's East Legon area on Saturday evening has claimed the lives of four unidentified individuals.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) is currently at the scene, working to retrieve the charred remains and burnt vehicles.

According to GNFS personnel, the cause of the accident remains unknown. Firefighters are struggling to remove the bodies due to limited logistics, making the retrieval process challenging.

A video posted on the GNFS Facebook page shows firefighters cutting through the mangled, smoldering wreckage to access the victims. Thick smoke continues to billow from the cars, hindering the recovery efforts.

The GNFS has appealed for additional resources to aid in the retrieval process. Investigations into the accident's cause are ongoing.
