Hit-and-Run Claims Lives of Two Former Achimota Students

Accra, Ghana - 10 March, 2025 - A devastating hit-and-run accident in Accra has claimed the lives of two young women, Davida Asante Boateng and Lilian Akorli, who were alumni of one of Ghana's most prestigious schools, Achimota School.
The incident occurred on March 7, 2025, as the two women were crossing the Achimota Highway after attending the Annual Bonfire Celebration at their former school. A vehicle, described by eyewitnesses as a black Corolla, struck them and sped away, leaving bystanders to rush them to the hospital.
Despite medical efforts, Davida Asante Boateng was pronounced dead at 4:00 AM the following morning, while Lilian Akorli succumbed to her injuries later that day.
The Old Achimotan Association has expressed its shock and sadness at the loss, offering condolences to the families of the deceased and pledging support during this difficult time.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
“The Old Achimotan Association (OAA24) extends our deepest condolences to the families of Davida and Lilian. We will continue to provide support to their families and find ways to honor their memory,” portions of the statement read.
