Mahama blames NPP for Ghana's economic woes, vows to restore stability

Upper West Region, Ghana - October 13, 2024 - John Dramani Mahama, presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has vowed to revitalize Ghana's struggling economy.

During his Upper West Region campaign tour, Mahama addressed crowds in Nadowli and Wichaw, promising sweeping reforms to address the country's dire economic situation.

Mahama blamed the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for gross economic mismanagement, citing eight years of policy failures. He expressed concern for Ghana's youth, hardest hit by rising unemployment, stagnant wages, and limited opportunities.

Ghana's economy faces significant challenges, including high inflation, unsustainable debt, and a weakened currency. These issues have fueled widespread frustration and hopelessness among citizens.

Mahama's campaign focuses on economic stability and growth. He pledged to implement bold reforms, revitalizing key sectors and creating jobs.

“NDC is going to come and fix the economy. So I know a lot of young people are losing hope. A lot of young people say, look, we don’t see any future in this country. And I can understand you. After what has happened these last 8 years, you are justified to lose hope in your country.

“But I stand here as the former president of Ghana and the incoming president of Ghana to appeal to all the young people of this country. You are my children because many of you are the same ages as my sons, and I appeal to you not to lose hope in this country. This country will rise up again, '' he stated.
