Edward Ekow Obeng-Kenzo Takes the Helm as Acting CEO of Volta River Authority

Accra, Ghana - 05 Feb, 2025 - Ghana's Volta River Authority (VRA) has appointed Edward Ekow Obeng-Kenzo as its new Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The appointment follows the departure of Emmanuel Antwi Darkwa, and Mr. Obeng-Kenzo will serve in an acting capacity until a formal decision is made by the incoming VRA board.
Mr. Obeng-Kenzo has 24 years of experience in the power sector and holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
He has held various senior positions within the VRA, including Director of Thermal Generation and Plant Manager of the Tema Thermal Power Complex.
As Acting CEO, Mr. Obeng-Kenzo will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to the VRA's various departments.
