Accra, Ghana - 05 Feb, 2025 - A Ghanaian Member of Parliament, Samuel Abdulai Jinapor, has denied allegations that he verbally attacked a fellow MP, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings.

The alleged incident occurred during a heated debate in parliament on Tuesday, February 4, marking the 60th anniversary of Joseph Boakye Danquah's death.

A voice, alleged to be Jinapor's, was heard shouting, "Daughter of a murderer, sit down!" However, Jinapor has vehemently denied making the comment, describing the allegations as "baseless and untrue".

In an interview with journalists, Jinapor emphasized his respect for Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings and her family, including her late father, former President Jerry John Rawlings.

“Anybody who followed my career, and my involvement in my public life in all modesty will attest to the fact that I don’t speak in that nature and manner, the words which are forcefully being attributed to me are not words that I will use, secondly, I didn’t even know that such words had been altered.

“I found out this morning when the trending video was brought to my attention, and what I can say about that, is that it is false. I don’t even speak across the aisle in parliament. If I want to speak I draw the attention of the speaker before I speak, the allegations are false. I have huge respect for Former president Rawlings”, he added.

He also took to social media to deny the alleged statement.
