Disqualified presidential candidate Apea-Danquah challenges EC in court

Accra, Ghana - October 11, 2024 - Samuel Apea-Danquah, also known as "Yellow Ghana," has taken the Electoral Commission (EC) to court over his disqualification from the upcoming presidential election.

Apea-Danquah, one of 11 aspirants barred due to irregularities in their nomination forms, filed the lawsuit on Thursday, October 10. He seeks a court order of certiorari to overturn the EC's decision.

The candidate claims the EC failed to provide adequate reasons for his disqualification, prompting the legal action.

Apea-Danquah's lawyer, Martin Kpebu, argued that the EC's decision was unfair and lacked transparency.
