Akufo-Addo designates Deputy Chief of Staff as Ambassador-at-Large and names an Ambassador In-Situ

Ghana's President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed three new ambassadors.

Fawaz Aliu, the deputy chief of staff, will now hold the position of ambassador at large in addition to his current position.

The appointments were made public at a ceremony held at the Jubilee House On Wednesday August 7, 2024.

Ghana's new ambassador to Serbia is Major General Charles Kojo Abedi Awity, while Mr. Peprah Ampratwum will take on the role of ambassador in-Situ, which entails regularly attending and actively participating in significant occasions and decision-making processes.

President Akufo-Addo conveyed his belief that the newly appointed individuals will flourish in their new positions and bolster Ghana's global diplomatic endeavors.

He tasked them with strengthening Ghana's relations with other nations and introducing Ghana to investment prospects.

On behalf of his peers, Major General Abedi promised to serve Ghana with distinction.

Nana Bediatuo Asante, the Executive Secretary to the Presidency, was named Ambassador-at-Large two months prior to this most recent appointment.
