13-Year Old Prodigy Receives Full Scholarship from Ibrahim Mahama

Accra, Ghana - 04 Feb, 2025 - A 13-year-old Ghanaian boy, Melchizedek Adio Baafawiise, who made history as the youngest student to gain admission to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has been awarded a full scholarship by business mogul, Mr. Ibrahim Mahama.
Melchizedek, from Bole in the Savannah Region, achieved an impressive 5 As and 3 Bs in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), securing his place at KNUST to study Physics.
Mr. Mahama, a renowned philanthropist, met with Melchizedek and his parents in Accra, where he commended the teenager's exceptional academic abilities. As part of his support, Mr. Mahama offered Melchizedek an exclusive learning experience aboard one of his private jets, providing a firsthand look at aircraft operations.
The scholarship, which covers all tuition, accommodation, and essential academic expenses, ensures Melchizedek's education is secured, allowing him to focus on achieving his full potential.
Mr. Mahama emphasized the importance of nurturing young talent, stating, "Young minds like Melchizedek are the future of Ghana. It is our responsibility to support and nurture them so they can reach their full potential."
