WAEC results will be released on Dec 29 - Education Minister
Ghana's Education Minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has stated that the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) will release the results of the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) on December 29, 2024.
The decision to release the results on this date is aimed at ensuring that the marking process is completed efficiently, while also supporting WAEC in managing its financial resources.
Dr. Adutwum revealed that WAEC has already completed approximately 50% of the objective marking, and reassured the public that the results will be released on schedule.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, December 24, Dr. Adutwum expressed confidence that the measures put in place would help maintain the integrity of the examination process.
"I came to apprise myself of developments in terms of the fact that they are working now through the holidays to get the results out on or before 29th of this month. So I came and saw the workers working and currently close to 50% of the objectives have been marked," he stated."
The government has provided additional funding to WAEC to support the examination process and alleviate financial pressures faced by the council.
