Vetting of New Ministerial Nominees Begins January 23
Accra, Ghana - 17 Jan, 2025 - Ghana's Parliament is gearing up for a crucial vetting process, scheduled to take place from January 23 to 27, 2025.
The Appointments Committee will thoroughly assess the qualifications, experience, and suitability of President John Dramani Mahama's ministerial nominees.
The vetting sessions, which will commence daily at 8:30 a.m. in Committee Rooms 1, 2, and 3 of the New Administration Block, aim to ensure that only the most capable individuals are appointed to key ministerial positions. This process is a critical part of Parliament's constitutional duty to promote accountability and transparency in the selection of public officials.
To facilitate comprehensive media coverage, the Director of Media Relations has issued a memorandum to the Dean of the Parliamentary Press Corps. The upcoming vetting sessions will build on the initial vetting process that began on January 13, 2025, which included nominees such as Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, John Abdulai Jinapor, and Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine.
